Nicholas Cahill has been a member of the Sardis Expedition since 1979, and has served as director since 2008. Throughout his career, Cahill has participated in archaeological excavations in Turkey, England, and Israel. He specializes in Greek and Near Eastern archaeology, particularly Anatolian, and his research interests include Greek city planning and social organization; interrelations between Greece and the Near East; archaic Greece; Achaemenid Persia; and Greek epigraphy.
